Job Description

The Middle Eastern and North African Cultural Community (MENACC) is a cultural space on campus that reports to the Yale College Dean's office. The MENACC is an institutional resource for students, working in partnership with faculty, staff and community members to covene and explore the cultural, historical, political and social dimensions of the Middle Eastern and North African community. 

The Graduate Assistant (GA) will support MENACC in connecting Yale graduate and professional students to the space through programming and outreach efforts. As a key member of the MENACC's team, the GA will work closely with the Assistant Director and undergraduate student coordinators to develop programs. 

Additional responsiblities include:

  • Assist the Assistant Director in overseeing an undergraduate student coordinator team, providing guidance and support in planning their event.
  • Assist with MENACC signature events and initiatives, including coordinating logitistics, promoting activites, and ensuring successful execution.
  • Collaborate with other cultural centers on campus to develop and implement intercultural programming.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as delegated by the Assistant Director 
Job Requirements

The successful applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and analytical abilities. They should have a demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups of people and possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and coordinate events.

 

The MENACC Graduate Assistant will need to work approximately 7 - 10 hours per week. Required attendance will include: Center Staff Meetings (Fridays 4 pm - 5 pm), 2026 Fall Retreat (Monday, August 31st), and 2026 Spring Trainings (Date TBD). All other days and times to work are negotiable and will be determined a few weeks into the start of the semester. Please note, federal work-study for this position is highly preferred. MUST be able to work for the 2026-2027 academic year.
