Job Description

The Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning seeks a Communications Coordinator (up to 5 hours/week) to support efforts to raise the Center’s profile and increase its visibility on campus and beyond.  Reporting to the Director of Communications, primary duties will include social media content development, photography during Center-wide events, and copywriting.  Key responsibilities will in include:

  •          Participating in weekly meetings to plan content for Poorvu Center social media channels
  •           Researching, creating, editing, and packaging stories and visual content for social media (including original captions, photographs, and video)
  •           Photographing Poorvu Center events across campus
  • Assisting in copywriting for newsletters, correspondence, and articles highlighting the Center’s work.
Job Requirements

This position is open to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students.  The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with strong written communication skills, demonstrated experience in social media and/or marketing, and comfort with basic graphic design software (Canva).  Candidate should have the ability to create engaging social posts and be a clear and punctual communicator who is attentive to deadlines.  Please send a cover letter, resume, a writing sample, and examples of social media work to elizabeth.derosa@yale.edu
