Overview: The Yale School of Nursing’s Biobehavioral and Translational Research Laboratory (BBL) is a state-of-the-art research facility supporting interdisciplinary studies that bridge biology and behavior to improve health outcomes. The BBL houses specialized facilities including a sleep laboratory, bioassessment and exam rooms, behavioral observation suites, and biomarker processing areas. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Yale undergraduate or graduate students for part-time research assistant (RA) positions to support ongoing and upcoming research studies. These studies span diverse populations and topics such as sleep health, climate change, stress physiology, chronic disease, cardiopulmonary function, and biobehavioral intervention trials. This position provides hands-on experience in translational research, exposure to clinical and laboratory methods, and opportunities to collaborate directly with investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and clinical research teams from across campus, including Yale School of Medicine. The lab is located at 400 West Campus Drive, West Haven, CT (Yale West Campus) with free parking and shuttle access from the main campus. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with participant scheduling, data collection, and study visit coordination for ongoing research protocols.
- Conduct data entry, quality assurance, and documentation in REDCap, Excel, or OnCore systems.
- Prepare research materials and maintain supply inventories.
- Support sleep and behavioral assessments, including polysomnography (PSG) setup assistance, actigraphy monitoring, and video observation recording.
- Participate in routine lab operations, including equipment maintenance, environmental safety checks, and EHS compliance documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with IRB, HIPAA, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Complete assigned lab safety and Yale EHS trainings.
Training Provided: All RAs will complete Yale-mandated laboratory safety and human subjects research trainings, including: - Laboratory Chemical Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens, Biological Safety I & II
