Job Description
The Middle Eastern and North African Cultural Community (MENACC) seeks a Yale graduate student artist to design and paint a permanent interior mural during Summer 2026. The mural will be installed on one designated wall within the MENACC and should reflect the cultural, historical, and contemporary experiences of Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) communities.
This project requires close engagement with MENA undergraduate students. The selected artist will solicit student input, synthesize themes, and translate that feedback into a visually compelling and culturally appropriate mural. Strong figurative painting skills are required, as the mural will include representations of people.
Job Requirements
- Current Yale graduate student (School of Art or related discipline strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale painting or murals
- Availablity to meet with student leaders and administrators 
- Availablity to co-create and co-execute mural on plain white wall
Compensation 1,000 stipend
Job Level Exception Rate
Hours 10.0 hours per week
