Job Description |
- The Research Assistant will provide substantive research support for a book-length project on complicity, ethics, and institutional behavior. This position focuses on case study research and psychological literature, including legal, governmental, historical, and international examples of misconduct, complicity, and moral courage.
- Primary responsibilities include researching assigned case studies; reviewing and synthesizing psychological research on topics such as moral disengagement, cognitive dissonance, bystander behavior, institutional norms, loyalty, and moral courage; and producing concise, standardized research briefs (typically 1–2 pages).
- The Research Assistant will identify key themes, decision points, and psychological mechanisms in each case, extract relevant quotations or empirical findings, and help organize materials in a shared research database.
- The Research Assistant will not be responsible for cite-checking or final footnote formatting and preparation.

Job Requirements |
- Graduate student in psychology, political science, sociology, history, public policy, law, or a related field
- Strong research and analytical writing skills
- Ability to synthesize complex material efficiently without reading full books cover-to-cover
- Comfort working across disciplines and engaging with both empirical research and narrative case studies
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet weekly deadlines
- Interest in ethics, institutional behavior, misconduct, or democratic accountability preferred
