Job Description

The maternal health research study entitled "Trauma informed approach to timely detection and management of early postpartum hypertension" has a paid student position available from the beginning of Spring semester through the end of Summer.

 

The student intern will assist with various study related activities, including in-person study recruitment, data collection, and data entry. This position is housed at the Yale School of Public Health. Most of the work will be conducted on-site at Yale New Haven Hospital.   

 

Responsibilities will include: 

  1. Face-to-face recruitment of postpartum patients at Yale New Haven Health
  2. Pre-screening Yale New Haven Health patients via hospital records
  3. Data collection and entry
  4. Phone call follow-up interviews with research participants
  5. Other research support tasks (such as printing documents, checking inventory, organizing & preparing supplies, mailing postcards, etc)

Typical shift/schedule:

5-10 hrs per week during the school year

1-3 shifts per week starting at 8:30am

**Up to full-time hours available over the summer

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • **At least one year of related work experience in research** 
  • **At least 4 months of experience working directly with patients, participants, or customers** 
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK IN-PERSON DURING SUMMER 2026
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area such as public health, psychology, healthcare, etc 
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented 
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to multitask 
  • Computer proficiency 
  • Experience with data entry preferred 
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
  • Biweekly Saturday availability preferred
Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 5.0 to 20.0 hours per week
