Job Description

Looking for 2-3 summer students to share weekend work in a Zebrafish facility at the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center (YCRVC).  Tasks include monitoring water quality, feeding zebrafish, monitoring fish health, and minor system maintenance of a medium-sized aquatics facility.  Training will be provided on all necessary tasks and protocols.  Science background is not necessary.  Option to continue work in the Fall semester.  Job will be split between 2-3 students to give flexibility during summer break; each student will work independently on the days they are scheduled to work.

Job Requirements

Must be living locally to New Haven for the summer with AVAILABILITY ON WEEKENDS (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY) BEING A REQUIREMENT, although timing is somewhat flexible between the hours of 8a-3p. Assistant can expect to be in lab 2-3 hours on their scheduled work day. Lab experience not required as training will be provided. Must be reliable, trustworthy and able to work in the lab independently. There will be some extra weekday hours available should the candidate want to expand their work hours.   Prior to working with the animals a health form will need to be submitted as well as some online training course requirements that will need to be taken. 

Compensation $16.50/hour
