Anoles are a diverse lineage of lizards distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the Western Hemisphere. Caribbean anole lizards are widely known as a classic example of adaptive radiation. Students engaged in the work will learn animal handling, lizard husbandry, lizard feeding, and inputting mass data. The lab will be housing ~70 lizards from the Dominican Republic that are being used for physiology experiments. The student will get to be a part of a dynamic, and highly collaborative, team of researchers. The ideal start date is May 20 until August 16, with the potential to continue in the winter of 2025. No previous research experience is necessary, mainly on weekends, just an enthusiasm for science and learning! Please contact arely.floresguzman@yale.com with any questions.
