Job Description

The Forests Dialogue (TFD) is seeking a motivated Yale School of the Environment (YSE) student with an interest in international forest and landscape management issues, stakeholder engagement, and multi-stakeholder dialogue processes. This position is available for the spring semester with the possibility of continuing part-time in the fall. The student would work directly on the Bioenergy for Forests Dialogue slated for early summer 2025 in southern Washington with the Yakama Tribe, or the Ecosystem Restoration dialogue in Brazil slated for late summer. The selected student will work closely with Gary Dunning, Executive Director, and other student Program Associates.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
•    Conduct thematic research relevant to TFD initiatives including forest bioenergy, mass timber, forests and climate change, and ecosystem restoration.
•    Identify and engage stakeholders for upcoming dialogues.
•    Assist in the logistics and preparation of dialogue events.
•    Communicate with dialogue participants and coordinate Advisory Groups.
•    Support the TFD Steering Committee.
•    Manage TFD’s website and database.
•    Provide logistical support during dialogues, with opportunities for travel to dialogue locations.
Qualifications:
•    Ideally work-study status.
•    Strong attention to detail and responsible team player.
•    Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
•    Proficient in professional communication and task management.
•    Comfortable interacting with a globally diverse group of stakeholders.
•    Proficiency in multiple languages (especially French, Portuguese, Spanish, Bahasa Indonesia) is highly desirable.
•    Interest or experience in non-profit financial management is an advantage.

Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 5.0 to 10.0 hours per week
