Job Description

My research group works on thinking about nature as a capital asset. We have a few ongoing and starting projects where we could use the help of a research assistant. Project themes include measuring the value of specific natural assets in specific locations such as (birds or soil), the connection between specific natural assets and local government finance, and understanding transition risks from climate change and nature loss. I may also be looking for some help organizing events related to COP16 (Biodiversity COP). Other projects might also emerge.

I will be looking to put together a team for the academic year. I intent to hire 3 +/- positions. Some of these will be work study supported others are supported from other sources. If not you not work study eligible but are interested and feel you are qualified please still apply,

In the past, RAs in my research group have used the experience to publish papers, prepare for PhD programs, and as a launching pad for jobs with organizations like the World Bank.

Job Requirements

Most of the will involve working with data and help organize complex data sets using R, python, SQL or similar. So, I look for demonstrated experience working with complex data sets, and ideally a history of working collaborative on computational projects via Github. Ability work independently with little supervision and to work as part of a team.

In the statement of interest, please include a link to any online coding portfolio such as a Github page or personal website documenting your work. Also, please speak directly to your research experience as well as your interest in the topics and projects.
