This role will support the development and execution of a Yale Center for Environmental Communication speaker series that brings in inspiring practitioners of environmental communication that 1) model how to build public and political will to address environmental challenges and 2) equips attendees with the skills to engage in strategic communication themselves to solve environmental problems. Potential topics for the series will include: transformational organizing; closing the climate communication gap in Black media; global climate change journalism, particularly in high GHG-emitting countries like India, China and Brazil; leveraging social media influences on behalf of the climate; implications of climate change for labor; or translating cutting edge environmental scholarship for a public interested in solutions. The student will contribute to shaping the series’ direction and have the opportunity to pursue topics of personal interest.
