Job Description |
The Asian American Cultural Center (AACC), one of four cultural centers on campus, reports to the Yale College Dean’s Office. The AACC is a resource center for students, faculty, staff, and community members. Its programming focuses on the historical, cultural, political, and social aspects of the Asian and Asian American community and provides a supportive environment for students that encourages academic and personal development, cultural pride, coalition building, and leadership. The AACC staff consists of a Director, Assistant Director, graduate assistants, peer liaisons, and undergraduate staff. The Undergraduate Student Coordinator (USC) will help connect Yale undergraduate students to the Center through programming and outreach efforts coordinated with Center staff. There are a variety of areas for the USC to work in including: - Alumni Engagement (e.g. AACC Externship program, Life After Yale Series, other alumni efforts, etc.);
- Communications and Design (i.e. AACC weekly newsletter, 295 Magazine, social media and advertisement, etc);
- Historical, Artistic, and Cultural Resources (e.g. AACC archiving, programming around Asian/Asian American arts and culture, etc);
- Political Action and Education (Alternative Spring Break, ad-hoc political events, etc);
- Wellness and Mental Health (e.g. Community Care Series, mental health workshops, etc)

Job Requirements |
The successful applicant must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational, and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and coordinate academically focused, co-curricular events. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and can work effectively with other students in a constantly changing environment. Demonstrated interest in Asian American history, current affairs, and prominent issues is preferred. Applications are only available to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The AACC Undergraduate Student Coordinator will need to be able to work 6-7 hours per week and the position requires evening, and a few weekend work schedules. Required attendance will include: Center Staff Meetings (Mondays 6pm-7pm), 2025 Fall Trainings, 2025 Fall Retreat, and 2026 Spring Trainings. All other days and times to work are negotiable and will be determined a few weeks into the start of semester. Compensation is about $16.50-$17/hour. Please note, federal work-study for this position is highly preferred. MUST be able to work for the 2025-2026 academic year. If you are unable to do this, please do not apply.
