This form allows you to register with the International Tax Office since you have secured employment. Completing the form will initiate a review of your U.S. tax status and eligibility for Tax Treaty Benefits.
About Tax Treaty Benefits:
If you are eligible, you may be eligible to claim a reduced rate of withholding (including full exemption) pursuant to a tax treaty between the U.S. and your country of tax residency. You must meet all the qualifications of the treaty and complete the necessary tax forms in a timely basis.
Once you have completed this form,The International Tax Office will email to you a FNIS User ID, password and instructions within 48 hours. Once you receive the User ID and password, you will complete and submit the International Information Form (IIF) online.
