Citizens Thinkers Writers: Reflecting on Civic Life is a free two-week residential summer program and year-long fellowship program at Yale University for students from New Haven public schools who want to think deeply about fundamental human questions in a college setting. Reporting to and working closely with the CTW Associate Director, the Administrative Coordinator will coordinate and administer the operations, logistics, and communications for the CTW residential summer program and year-long fellowship program. The Coordinator will be responsible for organizing the CTW nomination, application, and admission process, marketing and communications, and events management. 

 

Responsibilities 

In support of the overall mission, plans and oversees programmatic activities. Develops and maintains operational policies and procedures. Manages program communications and assists in program promotion, including updates to the website and drafting press releases. Organizes and oversees the CTW nomination, application, and admission process. Maintains program files and assists with data collection and reporting. Works closely with CTW program faculty and staff, Yale’s Office of New Haven and State Affairs, and other relevant stakeholders. May perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Current Yale graduate students preferred 

  • Well-developed managerial, decision-making, planning, organizational, problem-resolution and leadership skills. 

  • Experience working in an administrative role

  • Strong academic record with interest in the humanities 

  • A love of reading, writing, and reflecting on fundamental questions 

  • Commitment to working with youth from backgrounds historically underrepresented in higher education, including low-income and first-generation college students 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
